Warrior Reunion and Annual Celebration

November 13, 2010 - Philadelphia, PA

On the sixth anniversary of the reopening of the National Roller Derby Hall of Fame, we are pleased to announce our annual CELEBRATION of the sport on Saturday, November 13, 2010 in Philadelphia. Roller Derby Hall-of-Famers, former skaters, current skaters along with fans from around the world will attend.

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of Roller Derby's debut, the NRD HOF will host a day-long celebration of the game and its greatest stars on NOVEMBER 13 in Philadelphia at the PJRD Warehouse (1801 West Indiana Avenue) where PENN JERSEY ROLLER DERBY continues to bring together elements of 'old school' Roller Derby and the 'new version' of the game under the guidance of Hall-of-Famer JUDY SOWINSKI and former Roller Games' star, ARNOLD 'Skip' SCHOEN.

The day will begin at 10 AM with a two-hour 'MASTER CLASS' on the PJRD banked track for skaters with Derby Hall-of-Famers & former greats of the sport. Some of the greatest stars in the history of the sport will join HOFer JUDY SOWINSKI in leading the class.

At 1 PM, an 'OPEN HOUSE' will take place where the Philadelphia community will be reintroduced to former stars of Roller Games and meet members of the Penn Jersey Roller Derby. Former PHILADELPHIA WARRIOR stars will be in attendance.

Memorabilia from the museum collection of the NRD HOF will be on display at the Warehouse. Souvenirs including DVDs, commemorative t-shirts, hats & bumper stickers, along with the new 2010 NRD HOF Program Yearbook will be available for purchase. Food will also be available for purchase.

At 3:30 as part of the 'OPEN HOUSE,' a history of 'Roller Derby in Philadelphia' will be presented, along with a 'Question & Answer' session with former skaters & Hall-of-Famers. At 6 PM, our annual NRD HOF induction 'CEREMONY' will take place as the newest Hall-of-Famers are celebrated.

Tickets for the 'MASTER CLASS' are $20. Open to participating skaters & those who wish to watch. PARTICIPATING SKATERS in the 'MASTER CLASS' will have FREE ACCESS to ALL EVENTS for the rest of the day.

Tickets for the 1 PM afternoon 'OPEN HOUSE' are $20 (half-price for children sixteen-and-under). Tickets for 6 PM induction CEREMONY are $20 (half-price for children). Our HOF VIP package is available for $75 which includes access to ALL THREE EVENTS in addition to a 2010 HOF YEARBOOK program along with a SOUVENIR T-SHIRT.
